Lotus F1 Team, based in Oxfordshire, competed from 2012 until 2015. Lotus F1 was effectively the Renault F1 Team renamed although, historically the Lotus name was competing as Team Lotus from 1954 to 1994 and then a number of name changes there after.
Lotus did attract some notable drivers and achieved 25 podiums and two race wins. Drivers included Kimi Raikkonen, Roman Grosjean, Jerome D'ambrosio, Heikki Kovalainen and Pastor Maldonado. At the end of 2015 Lotus F1 Team was bought back by Renault and is now known as Renault F1 Team and is headed up with managing director Alain Prost, himself a very successful Formula 1 driver who was nicknamed "The Professor". Alain Prost enjoyed 33 pole positions, 51 wins and 106 podiums during his 13 year career.
