A Championship That Made History
Launched in 2019, the W Series was designed to address the lack of female drivers progressing through to Formula One. The championship shared race weekends with the FIA F1 World Championship, putting its drivers in front of a global audience.
All three seasons (2019, 2021, and 2022) were dominated by Jamie Chadwick, who cemented her place in motorsport history as the only three-time W Series champion. Although the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the championship went into administration in 2023, the series left behind a legacy of opportunity and inspiration.
