There have been plenty of memorable Formula 1 team colours over the years, but few have been as instantly recognisable as the bright pink of Racing Point and BWT.
This week at Pit-Lane Motorsport Memorabilia, we have taken in two genuine pieces of that short-lived era: 2019 and 2020 Racing Point pit crew team suits.
They are a great reminder of just how distinctive the Racing Point identity was — and how quickly a team can become part of F1 memorabilia history.

Racing Point's unmistakable pink identity became one of the most recognisable liveries on the Formula 1 grid.
From Force India to Racing Point
When the former Force India operation was taken over during the 2018 season, a new chapter began for the Silverstone-based team.
For 2019, the team officially became Racing Point, retaining the striking pink identity that BWT had helped establish during the Force India era. Racing Point launched its new identity with Sergio Pérez alongside new signing Lance Stroll.
The result was one of the most distinctive-looking teams on the grid.
And it wasn't just the cars.
The pink identity carried through the team's garage, pit wall and teamwear, giving Racing Point a presence that was impossible to miss during a Grand Prix weekend.
2019: Racing Point arrives in style
The 2019 season was the first full season for Racing Point under its new identity.
For memorabilia collectors, however, the significance of 2019 goes beyond the results.
It was the first complete season of Racing Point F1 teamwear.
The pit crew and mechanics were surrounded by the unmistakable pink, white and blue branding, creating team clothing that looked very different from the Force India apparel that came before it.

2020: The pink became even more recognisable
For 2020, BWT became the team's title sponsor, with the pink identity becoming even more prominent on the RP20 and across the team's presentation.
The 2020 Racing Point was quickly nicknamed the "Pink Mercedes", attracting considerable attention during pre-season testing and throughout the season.
And on track, Racing Point became one of the stories of the season.
The team's biggest moment came at the Sakhir Grand Prix.
Sergio Pérez produced a remarkable comeback from last place to win the race, while Lance Stroll finished third. It was Racing Point's first Formula 1 victory and one of the defining moments of the team's short history.

Two seasons. One unmistakable identity.
Perhaps what makes Racing Point memorabilia particularly interesting is how short the chapter was.
The team competed as Racing Point for the 2019 and 2020 seasons, before becoming Aston Martin for 2021.
That gives original Racing Point teamwear a very specific place in Formula 1 history.
A 2019 pit crew suit represents the beginning of the Racing Point era.
A 2020 suit represents its final season — and the year in which the team achieved its first Grand Prix victory.
For collectors, having both creates an interesting snapshot of those two seasons.
From the pit lane to the collector's cabinet
Team-issued clothing can sometimes be overlooked compared with race-used helmets, suits and car parts.
But as teams disappear, sponsors change and identities are replaced, original teamwear becomes an increasingly important record of a particular period in Formula 1.
Racing Point is a perfect example.
The cars are gone.
The name is gone.
The pink pit lane has gone.
But genuine team-issued clothing from those two seasons preserves a little piece of it.
And sometimes, that is what makes memorabilia special.
This week at Pit-Lane Motorsport Memorabilia, we are pleased to have taken in genuine 2019 and 2020 Racing Point F1 pit crew suits — two pieces of team-issued clothing from one of the most distinctive and short-lived identities of the modern Formula 1 era.
Which do you prefer — 2019 Racing Point or 2020 BWT Racing Point?
